ISTD - Typography
Brief
Through typographic interpretation, the ISTD brief required a print or screen-based interpretation & design centred on the topic of ‘Fakery.’
Rationale
The notion of fakery is by now well documented. Of all its sub-categories, plagiarism and piracy receive most criticism. Despite this criticism, it seems consumer’s of typography tend to soften their moral ideals if faced with the decision whether to pirate.
For this project, I conducted research in the form of questionnaires to discover if designers would purchase pirated fonts (at a lower fee, compared to the original). I then mapped these results in the form of an information graphic and corresponding business proposal.
